Questions

Common questions

Which areas does PUKTA Electric serve?

We work across Tampa, Brandon, Riverview, Valrico, Plant City, Lutz, Land O' Lakes, Wesley Chapel, Odessa, Zephyrhills and Lakeland, covering Hillsborough, Pasco and Polk County. Call (813) 363-6303 with the property address and we will confirm coverage and availability.

How do I know if my panel needs replacing?

A 60 or 100 amp service in a house with modern loads, a full panel with no spare spaces, a fuse box, or a recalled Federal Pacific or Zinsco panel all point toward replacement. A load calculation settles it properly rather than relying on guesswork.

How many recessed lights does a room need?

It depends on the light output of the fixtures, the ceiling height and what the room is used for. A uniform grid usually lights the middle of the floor and leaves the edges dark. Positioning relative to furniture and work surfaces produces a better result than a fixed formula.

Can I hang a ceiling fan on an existing light box?

No. A standard light box is rated for a static fixture and will not carry the weight and vibration of a fan. A fan-rated braced box is required. This is one of the more common unsafe shortcuts found during inspections.

How do I get started?

Call (813) 363-6303 or email electric@pukta.com and describe what the property is doing. We will tell you whether it needs a visit, what the work likely involves, and how soon we can get there. If the scope needs a permit, we handle the application and the inspections.
